I got annoyed because there was no easy way to change the number of workspaces... so I hacked this togetther and I thought that others might find it usefull.

I've tested this with PR2... but it should work with PR1 as well.

You can not disable a workspace that has a running app in it.  So if you've got and app with a window open in the 5th workspace, you will not be able to set the workspace count below 5 until you quit that app or move it's window into another workspace.  Windows that are open in all workspaces don't count (like the Deskbar, Tracker, Workspaces, or LaunchPad).
