About BeColumns...

BeColumns is my 4th major BeOS project, and it's a clone of the popular falling-blocks game "Columns", which is available for almost every other platform. The object of the game is to arrange the multicolored gems in rows of the same type (color) so that they disappear. The more you can remove at once, the more points you get!

Playing the game...

As I just mentioned, the object of the game is to arrange gems of the same color in rows: these rows can be horizontal, vertical, or even diagonal. The minimum you need to make the gems disappear is 3 gems, but the more gems you remove at once, the more points you get. To move the currently falling "group" of gems, you can use the left and right arrow keys. To swap the order of the gems in the group, simply press the up arrow. To speed up the dropping of the gems, hold down the down arrow. Other important controls are ENTER to pause, and ESC to end the current game. (No, you can't flip the group of gems horizontally!)
